For the first BSW broke the sonic barrier of 7,000 t/d output in the wire rod mill:
The 7,043 tons (12mm ribbed material) were produced with 100% hot charging and a gas consumption below 100 kWh/t - just around 30% of what a state of the art reheating furnace consumes with cold billet charge.
A high productivity and hot charging rate is leading to new output records, as well as contributing to a lower CO2 footprint per ton of steel produced.
